The Bruce Smith Trio is a high energy jazz group that performs straight ahead, as well as contemporary and smooth jazz for almost any occasion. The group is made up of Bruce Smith on keyboard, keyboard bass and vocals, Michael McPherson on the drums, and Larry Marynak on alto sax, clarinet, flute and vocals.

This dynamic group performs the music of jazz giants Miles Davis, Dizzie Gillespie, Duke Ellington, Paul Desmond, and John Coltrane while also performing great arrangements of contemporary fusion greats like Herbie Hancock, George Benson, Ronnie Laws, Grover Washington, Jr. If that's not enough, they also perform Pop and R&B music suitable for dancing as well. This group also performs ballroom dance classics.

Bruce Smith (keyboards) was a jazz pianist with the U.S. Army Band before becoming a Warrant Officer Bandmaster. He was the Principle Conductor and Commander for bands in South Carolina, the Republic of South Korea, Alabama, and eventually the Staff Bands Officer for the US Army and US Army National Guard in Washington. Mike McPherson (drums) is an exceptional musician who played with the US Army band and also with Leon Jordan's Continentals (Big Band) for many years. Larry Marynak has served as leader and soloist of the Air Force and Army National Guard Jazz Big Bands in Harrisburg PA and Raleigh NC, and has performed in the road bands for the Temptations, Four Tops, and the Stars of the Lawrence Welk Show.
